Having been formally elected as Guild Training Officer at this year’s AGM, I’ve been working on defining the role and how it will affect you – the ringers.
As more branches are now organising their own training sessions, it is not my intention to arrange regular Second Saturday Sessions as before. However, I hope to be able to direct people towards appropriate training and, where the need arises, arrange courses to be put on.
I am also trying to build an up-to-date database of all the ringers in the Guild who are able to teach bell-handling. I believe this database should include those who have been doing so for a long time as well as those who are just learning how, whether or not this includes any input from ART. If you think that this applies to you, please let me know.
Finally, I have organised an ART M1 course to be held at Pattishall on Saturday 31st October for those who want to become ringing teachers in the future. At the moment there is just one place available and it is reserved for Guild members until 30th July at which point it will become available to the wider ringing community. If you are interested in attending one of these courses, please get in touch with me, even if you can not make the Halloween one. If there is sufficient interest, I will arrange another one within the Guild.
