Afternoon tea outing

Thankyou to Diana and Elaine for organising a great afternoon out today. We all had such a good time ringing three lovely sets of bells in Twyford, Cranford St John and Barton Seagrave and enjoyed the novel challenge of ringing 8 counter clockwise.

Thankyou too to those churches for allowing us to ring today and our non ringing members of the party found all three places historically very interesting.

Afternoon tea was delicious too and the sporadic heavy rainfall did not spoil our day.

What a lovely way to spend a wet afternoon!

Ringing and afternoon tea reminder

Dear all, just a reminder that the ringing and afternoon tea outing is taking place this coming Sunday, September 22nd.

All the details of the churches we will be visiting, timings and postcodes can be found in the EVENTS section of the petbells web site. To view click here

Afternoon tea will be at Bosworths Aspen cafe, Burton Latimer, NN15 5QA. It is £4.50 for scone, jam, cream and a drink or £12.50 for the full afternoon tea.

Cambridge Minor

Have you wondered about making the leap into surprise ringing with Cambridge Minor?

Have you rung Cambridge but need more opportunity to crack it?

Have you tried to ring it but it didn’t go well?

If you recognise yourself in any of these descriptions then the branch Cambridge workshops are for you. There will be two workshops, one theory/learning at my home, the second practical at a tower.

If you are interested please drop me an email and we can arrange a date to meet that suits the group.

Finally, if you are not sure if you are at the right stage then your tower captain should be able to advise you, or email me to discuss.

Taylors bell foundry open day September 14th

Taylor’s bell foundry is taking part in the annual Heritage open day this year, opening its doors on Saturday 14th September between 10:30 & 2:30 pm. See this link for more information: https://www.heritageopendays.org.uk/visiting/event/loughborough-bellfoundry-open-day

The Loughborough bellfoundry Trust also have a Facebook page with the same information, if that’s easier for you to access. https://www.facebook.com/events/2390375877872164/

Also in Loughborough, the Carillon tower is open on the same day. A walk between the Tower and the bell foundry is planned for 1pm. Victorian fancy dress is encouraged. We’d like photos if anyone does go in fancy dress. https://www.heritageopendays.org.uk/visiting/event/carillon-tower
