Branch Tour August 17th

The date of the Branch tour is rapidly approaching. All the details of the towers and timings can be found in the events section of the petbells web site.

If you would like to join the tour but have not already replied please could you let me know as it greatly helps planning if we know how many people to expect.

If you would like to book lunch at the Blue Ball, Braunston, please have a look at the menu which Hilary has posted earlier and then send me your order. The last date that we can submit orders is Saturday August  10th so I would appreciate your reply by Friday August 9th at the latest. Any orders received after this date will not be processed.

Oundle wedding 3rd August 13.30 hrs

I am a few ringers short for this wedding (there are 8 bells but so far I only have 4 ringers).  You would need to be at the tower by 13.00 hrs to ring up and ring before the wedding.

Branch Outing, 17 August

Dear all, a reminder that the Branch outing for this year is on 17 August and we will be visiting some lovely Towers around the Rutland area.  Lunch will be at the Blue Ball, Braunston.

The timetable is below:

9.30am Meet at St Peter’s, Barrowden LE15 8ED (6)
10.30am SS Peter & Paul, Uppingham LE15 9TJ (8)There is free parking on the Market Place in front of the church, but only for one hour.  There are a few two hour places on South View, below the church.

Public toilets on the market place. Lots of coffee shops.
11.45am All Saints, Braunston in Rutland, LE15 8QS (6)
12.45pm Lunch at the Blue Ball, Braunston LE15 8QS
2.15pm Ring at All Saints, Oakham LE15 6AA (8)
3.30pm St Mary the Virgin, Greetham LE15 7NF (6)

Wedding on 17th August

I am short of three ringers for a wedding at King’s Cliffe at 13:30 on Saturday 17th August. We ring before and after the service so the ringing will be from 13:00.

As you will be aware, this is the day of the Branch Outing which is why I am struggling to put together a band. If you are not going on the outing and you would be willing and able to ring I would love to hear from you.

QP at Woodston 21st July, 10am

I am trying to arrange a QP at Woodston on Sunday morning before the 11am service. I know this is a difficult time to attract ringers when everyone is trying to ring at their own services but I really need a band to support one of my learners on the tenor.

The intention is to ring to the level of the band on 5.

Striking and Listening Workshop Aug 3rd

Northampton Branch are offering a striking and listening workshop at St Mary, Dallington on August 3rd. There will be a combination of theory and practical sessions and a fun striking competition.

The cost is £10 plus refreshments

1.45pm registration

2pm theory, practical, fun, socialising and refreshments

8 Bell practice, tonight

Dear all, a reminder that we have the 8 bell practice tonight at 7.30pm at Castor. The practice will include rounds, and methods ranging from Plain Hunt to Surprise Major.

Whatever your ability, you will be made very welcome and the ringing will be organised to suit your requirements.
